Grading / wood characteristics
Grade A: Sapwood not allowed, needle-size nodes and healthy well-grown nodes smaller than 5 mm in diameter are allowed; structural and color variations resulting from natural growth allowed.
Grade B: Healthy sapwood less than 1/3 of width allowed, needle-size nodes and healthy well-grown nodes smaller than 5 mm in diameter are allowed; structural and color variations resulting from natural growth allowed.
Grade C: Sapwood ratio not restricted, nodes (even if black) smaller than 10 mm in diameter allowed without restrictions (also in gangs) if not loose. Strikingly rough textural structure and patches occurring during storage are allowed. On one side machining faults allowed if not eye-catching.
